We've added a couple of new features to our online presence this year to make sure things run as seamlessly as possible, and to make sure that we keep making space to rep our DVM pride. Enter: our new virtual event space.

This is a space that we have built for you, to make sure that accessing any and all of our events is as easy as possible, and to make sure that our community has one place to come together to learn and network. Below you'll find a complete list of all upcoming events as we schedule them, along with any important information or resources that we think you might find useful when attending. We've also included links to our applications right on this page, just to keep everything in one spot for you, since we know the online world has gotten a little overwhelming recently.

Fall General Assembly

The General Assembly (GA) is an awesome event where students gather to exercise their democratic rights and shape the future of the International Development & Globalization Students’ Association (DSA)! At the GA, you will hear updates from the Executive Team about the DSA’s operations, and you can propose and vote to make amendments to the Constitution. This is your opportunity to build a better DSA!

If you have any proposals to amend the constitution, feel free to send them to vp.internal@aedsa.ca in either official language and they will be added to the agenda. We will also be taking proposals at the end of the Assembly, however, we recommend that you send yours in beforehand!

ongoing meetings.

BIPOC Caucus

The regrettable events that are happening in the United States and in Canada in recent months have highlighted the need for continued efforts in the fight for the eradication of racism and discrimination. As such, the GDVM in collaboration with AÉDSA is encouraging the creation of a caucus in charge of representing BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) students and of advancing their interest within the School of International Development and Globalisation Studies (SIDGS) at the University of Ottawa.

The caucus will be opened to all self- identifying BIPOC undergraduate and graduate DVM students (members of the associations) to pursue a common mandate, as determined by the Caucus. The membership will not be reported/disclosed unless otherwise determined by the caucus.

The caucus will operate independently from the International Development Graduate Student Association (GDVM), the Undergraduate Development Students’ Association (AÉDSA), and the School of International Development and Global Studies (SIGDS) and, as such, will not be subject to either organization’s leadership.

executive team meetings

The executive team holds weekly meetings every Sunday at 12:00EST. In these meetings we discuss upcoming events and logistics, internal communication with other RSGs, perform housekeeping tasks like voting on reimbursement forms and various other votes, and communications plans.

These meetings are open to any student, however, we also include all of our meeting minutes through the links below. If you would like to attend one of our Sunday meetings, please email our President at president@aedsa.ca
